So there´s a six issue mini series called Gates of Gotham solicited for May, starring what the previews ominously refer to as Batman.

Scott Snyder, Kyle Higgins, Trevor McCarthy Gates of Gotham

When a mystery as old as Gotham City itself surfaces, Batman assembles a team of his greatest detectives – including Red Robin, Owlman, I-Ching and others – to investigate this startling new enigma.

Now the usual crew of easily excitable fanboys were already slobbering over how good this was going to be, when co-author Kyle Higgins turned up on the DC boards in all his glory , so I dared to ask the unaskable.

Me being my usual narrow minded fangirl self:
Which Batman is it??
I am annoyed that the solicits deliberately withhold the information as to who is under the cowl. Maybe some fans don´t care as long as the mask has pointy ears, but I am exclusively interested in the Bruce Wayne Batman. Since I have to pre-order my comics, I´d rather forego this series than to be stuck with something I don´t care for.

Mr Higgins being helpful - or not:
Sorry, I can't say just yet. But I 100% understand where you're coming from with preordering and the solicits. Withholding which Batman it is wasn't intentional, but at this point I want to make sure any info we give is agreed on by both myself and Scott as well as DC. I would say, if the premise sounds interesting to you, try the first issue-- I'm really excited and proud of the story we have going.

Well thanks for nothing, jerkface. You want wine? Why don´t you try our bubbly sugar swill, it´s fluid too, maybe you´ll like it!

I should have known that Scott Snyder, who is currently writing Dickbat in Detective Comics using the How To Make Batman In 10 Easy Steps handbook, was going to take the opportunity to fanboy over his pet Dick a bit more. So am I at least interested in the premise Mr Higgins is soooo excited about?

This miniseries spins out of recent events in the Batman titles and sets the stage for several exciting storylines in 2011. Additionally, this limited series touches upon mysterious story elements introduced in Grant Morrison's RETURN OF BRUCE WAYNE.

Sigh. I think there are shoes waiting to be bought, fine Japanese restaurants to be visited and the Batbike will be needing a few more gallons of gasoline this summer too, so  - thanks, but no thanks.

But here, have one of my favourite eps of Cow and Chicken: the Orthodontic Policeman. I remembered it for reasons I cannot explain while trying to imagine Mr Higgins being all excited.
